Which provider is chreapest to go with for wanting about 2mb down and unlimited/reasonable down load size? We was with Plus net before and now seeing if there is anything better.

Thank you.

If you have a orange contract £30+ you can get unlimited broadband for £10 per month
Really? I can't find anything about it on their site. The only thing I can find is free broadband with an orange contract which only has a 2GB usage.

You can get broadband max for £10 (this also includes unlimited calls to landlines and orange mobiles through the livebox)

I work for orange retail and sell it day in day out so i know its available! ;)

All my notes say this product is unlmited no fair use policy
Well the Orange website would disagree. It says 'Unlimited - subject to fair usage policy'.

And if you click the link to the FUP, and actually bother wading through the pages of T&Cs, you'll encounter this:

2.6 In the event that you exceed your monthly Usage Allowance we reserve the right (at our sole discretion) to suspend the Broadband Access Service until the start of your next monthly period. If your usage continues to exceed your Usage Allowance or you exceed 30GB in one month, we also reserve the right to: (a) make a charge for additional usage above your Usage Allowance; or (b) give you 30 days written notice that we shall Re-grade you to a higher Usage Allowance at a different Charge; or (c) terminate the Broadband Access Service even if you are within your Minimum Period.

So it's actually 30Gb. The 40Gb figure was offered to old Freeserve users to try and compensate for the fact it was no longer unlimited.

Orange couldn't possibly afford to offer 'unlimited' without an FUP, for the same reason no other IPStream ISP can't. It costs £100s.

I know some on who has just got an orange phone, however the bb they offer only includes 2/3gb which is poo. Is there any other prover that does offer more than 2gb preferably like 15gb for about £15 per month? Has any one signed up to any recently?

Thank you

EDIT it needs to be a monthly payment thing because students.

But as Blackhorse just explained, you can get 'Broadband Max' for £10/month if you're on an Orange £30/m contract already. It's 'Unlimited' with an FUP of ~30Gb.

No, its for a house in Leicester. Not on that list

You mean it says that no LLU providers are available, or you can't find the exchange on Samknows?

I believe it's 18 month, just like the phone contract. If that's the case, it might be of no use to you (unless you're staying put for that long!)

Also, i believe they restart the phone contract to 18 months when you take out the broadband. You'd just ring Orange CS on 150 to sort it.

I was looking on Tiscali's website and found this...

The following guide shows the approximate proportion of lines that get what speeds.
Maximum Line Speed Percentage of customers able to receive
Above 6Mb 42%
Above 4Mb 78%
Above 2Mb 93%
Source: BT Wholesale

I am amazed if those figures are correct - are they saying 93% of BT customers can get 2Mb ADSL or faster? Or just 93% of Tiscali customers? Either way I thought there were loads of people who were limited to 1Mb or below due to their phone line's length or quality.

If you can get blueyonder I'd go for that.

£14.99 a month gets you a 2mb uncapped line. I've been with blueyonder for at least 5 years and have never had a problem. Customer service is great too :)
