Whats the cheapest way of getting sky +?

Can I get a BOX and just pay 10 quid a month for Freeview?

I heard this is possible but I'm not sure Sky would allow it.

Not sure you can do that with Sky + i think you ave to subscribe for 12 months to a premium service then you can downgrade to the freeview option.

Why not get Freeview + or a self built HTPC option like have that allows for free HD satalite and recording to the HDD.

Freeview and Sky+ are 2 totally different things. What is it that you want? Sky channels? Freeview channels? Free TV over sattellite? the pausing/recording functionality of Sky+ ? Just a Hard disc recorder? Digital TV over Sat? Digi TV over convential rooftop aerial? Both?

There is an offer at the minute which I have just got for my house. Free Sky+ Box for all new customers and it's only about £20 a month, which let's face it is **** all considering the box was free.

EDIT : Just seen your above post, oh well :p

Would be interested in that though:p

details?

I got a mailshot through the door with the offer which had a code on which I used when I was ordering online, I'll try and find it for you, alternatively you can just ring up and haggle with them as they always throw daft offers to get you in the door. I even got £50 free Marks and Spencers vouchers which went to the mother for Christmas :p

Really impressed with Sky+ itself though, totally ****s all over my previous NTL in terms of IQ and speed. Love the recording feature, couldn't live without it now!
