Cheapest way to get iPod connectivity in Yaris?

So you can't browse by album/artist/genre/playlist etc?

Not through the steering wheel, the iPhone just display "accessory connected" and the connection is in the glove compartment on the passenger side so even if i can change it, i can't reach it while driving.

Kinda sucks lol I would have thought it is better than that.

Even my 5 year old JVC headunit + ipod addon that got sold with the Astra allowed you to scroll throuh the playlists / artists / albumes from the headunit...............

It cost significantly less than your retrofit as well.............

Should have got the audio unit I did. Although you can't change the categories from the steering wheel, you can from the unit it's self. I will get a pic of what it looks like tomorrow.

.

Well that's normal, but usually you have full control through the stereo in that case.. :/ I assume you can at least choose the music THEN plug the iPod in?! :p

I can change the tracks from the head unit and steering wheel.

Except i can't go into albums/artists/song, or figure out how yet.

I really hope it is a case of you just not having figured it out yet. If it really cant do that I think you have been well and truly had.

There you go.

Pretty easy to install yourself and works well. Don't think this unit charges your ipod but you can buy a separate adaptor which allows this.

The original Toyota radio disc track seek buttons can also be used to select tracks within the currently selected iPod playlist folder.

Folder selection is not possible with this OEM package and ID3 tags can not be displayed on the radio. For use only where no CD changer is fitted, or where disconnection of the changer is acceptable.

Op just asked for ipod connectivity, I've give him the best option for bang for buck as those FM transmitter things are junk and you paid silly money ;)

I guess if you don't know your way around behind a dash it can get quite complicated, I'm lucky in that I find the audio side and general electrical side of cars quite easy. Saving myself mucho ££ on installing such things. You tried holding the next track button for a few seconds? as this would normally change the cd or folder on a mp3 cd.
