How does one get excess salt water just lying around on a regular basis?

I've tried salt in the past and it did nothing tbh. The rain washes it away and organic matter finds its way back to health.
Plus I'd need a fish tank which houses several sharks to get a look in at all the weeds and ground I need to cover.
I'll be using glysophate on majority and bleach on slabs and areas which need cleaned.
I'm going to get polymeric sand next year and do it all properly once I've got landscaper in to completely remodel the back.
The cheapest "weedkiller" if you want to save money is to pull them out yourself, with the roots of course 
I can't see anything being cheaper than glyphosate, I think you can buy 1 litre for ~£12 but the value is buying 5 litres for ~£30.
The mix ratio is something like 50:1 so 1 litre is going to make 50 litres = 24p a litre if my maths is correct.
I thought salt was bad? Olden times punishment was to salt someone's land so stuff never grew again?

Bought some of the new Round-up non-glyphosate weed killer to try but noticed it's now 50% more expensive than what i paid so not cheap.
If using glyphosate I'd recommended mixing up only what you need. It ends up blocking my sprayer if left in the bottle for a while, starts congealing. Good stuff, just don't breath in or get the spray on the skin.

When I had a marine tank I used to empty the water change water onto my drive as the sump was in the garage, that section of drive all the way to the drain never had a single weed grow in it.

I Don't use salt on this bit of lawn just driveway as it leaves a brown patch but apparently dandilions do good even the mulch from them multiple mowing weekens weeds anyway according to Monty

100% on the vinegar. I got an old dog so didnt want to use chemicals. 5litre tub of white vinegar of amazon is cheap. Mix 500ml with a spoon of salt and fairy. Spray on the weeds and theyre dry dead and brown within 24-48 hrs. Had a lot sprouted up need garage drain and inbetween flags. They were gone in 48hrs.
