Hello all

Just after some knowledge as to what is the best 'cheap' SSD available on OcUK? Completely out of the loop now so was after some opinions in terms of brand names etc :)

Not after a massive one, just literally to put the O/S on then use a standard drive to put the games/data on?

Many thanks

I dont think so, you get into diminishing returns. Benchmarks will be higher. Especially on writes but I always think, how often am I writing from a device that can hold a 500mbs read. For me this is rarely most of my writing will be small files or stuff downloaded from internet which is wayyy slower than 500mbs. Big difference SSDs make are seek time and read time. Id 100% go for a mx100 at the moment as they are fantastic bang for buck.

Also 256gb is plenty for OS and most of your common programs and a few games. When I just had 1 256 + some mechanicals I had 90% of my commonly used stuff on ssd and only rarely used games on HDD.

Thanks all! mx100 it is then :)

May not even bother with a standard HDD either, I usually only have a few things installed at any one time anyway.

Thanks a bunch
