I've only got room for 32" in a recess bit of the dining room, and the small TVs are all a bit naff it seems to me.

I don't need audio out, and the use of the monitor is media pc, some minor surfing (using windows scaling), and a bit of bluray disc. 2x hdmi or 1x DP and 1x hdmi needed.

Good viewing angles is essential to avoid washed out viewing.

Are any of those sub £200 monitors worth it? I've been using an old cheapo Samsung F390 which is okay for desktop use in the mean time.

Thanks

My son is using my old AOC Q3279VWFD8 which is a 75hz 32" IPS panel and one of the few with fairly good reviews and decent pixel response as well, also it was dirt cheap. I cant find it on the new market as it seems to have been replaced by the AOC Q32V4. But maybe the new one is worth the look? I don't know about UK prices as I don't live there.

I saw that newer model already and it ticked the boxes. It's just the buy cheap buy twice i'd like to avoid, but can't see any major drawbacks if you happy with it? There was also an LG at much the same price ~£200

The thing is that I've been through a bunch of those cheapo screens and most of them had horrible response times for 75hz. The AOC was the only one that was decently tuned spite the lower refresh rate. pcmonitors.info had a review on it that confirms this. Again I dont know how the new AOC model is, it could be a complete "clustersomething" but it's the only brand where I've seen decent tuning on the cheap IPS panels. Just remember that some of these screens need to warm up before they behave as intended. So whatever you buy, let it warm up by being on and displaying content and then do your assessment.
