whats the cheapest yet reliable printer that uses really cheap ink?

it will only be used for printed text documents and coupons so doesnt need to do anything special ;)

best is one of the kodak ones for around 60-70quid that uses the black+colour ink combo that costs around 15 ?

Epson dx7400, Have one at home, it's one of the ones where it has a scanner as well.

Ink is cheap of the bay 12 ink catridges for £7 and 1 year warranty.

There are 4 cartridges, black, blue, magneta, yellow i think?

Epson Stylus SX218 All-in-One (Print, Scan, Copy) Printer with Individual Ink Technology & LCD screen - From the Rainforest Website = £60

25x Ink Cartridges for EPSON STYLUS SX200 SX100 SX400 SX218 SX 218 - from the Bay = £12 (5 Full sets (4 per set) + 5 individual black cartridges)

Tbh, i will be getting this, seems decent enough, and it will be hooked up to my macbook air when i get it, so hopefully it is compatible.

You may want to consider looking at Continous Ink Supply Systems or Refillable Ink Cartridges especially if you already have a printer

+1 for mono laser. The absolute cheapest way to print. Cartridges last forever, don't dry up if gone unused, and are very fast and quiet. Burning off a 100-page document doesn't make you cringe. B/W photos are excellent quality as well.

My favourite at this time is Brother. My current printer has over 15,000 pages on it and I've only replaced the cartridge once.

Well my brother inkjet printer is quit good, as if it dont get used, it cleans its self. It even does this automatically when its turned off aswell and Ive never had a printer in the past that did this.
