Hello. I'm planning to order for my first build today and I'm mostly certain everything is compatible and will fit but I would feel better if I had some affirmation. Not expecting a parade or anything although that would be nice.

HIS HD 7870 IceQ X 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (H787QN2G2M) with Tomb Raider & Bioshock PC Games £199.99

Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £179.99

Asus P8Z77-V LX Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £85.99

Corsair Carbide 500R Midi Tower Case - Black £79.99
(£66.66)

Corsair Builder Series CX 600W V2 '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £59.99

Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX) £49.99

Samsung SH-118AB/BEBE SATA 18x DVD-ROM (Black) - OEM £12.95

Looks Good..

If you could expend £40.00more I would get MSI HD 7950 Twin Frozr III Boost Edition 3072MB GDDR5 instead the 7870 AND a DVD-RW instead a reader only.

Do you have the Hard Disk already?

I should have said , yes I have the HDD . Thank you for the replies. I've had XFX PSU's recommended to be many times over the Corsair builders but they are out of stock at the moment.

Splendid. Apparently the XFX 550w's are in stock soon so I may wait a few days to see if I can get one instead of a Corsair Builder which I keep being warned against.

I may spend the extra £50 or so on a 7950 but my monitor is only 1366x768 which I can't afford to upgrade so would it be a bit overkill? Then again if I can afford the monitor eventually I'll have this nice gpu so probably makes sense to future proof myself now.

You'd still have the Intel HD 2500 on the 3570 :P

I very much doubt you'd be sticking with it for a while before replacing the graphics card though?

It may be worth it then seeing as I'm trying to scale back on my budget. I will probably go for a 300r or 400r case instead now. Considering that I'm not overclocking surely 4 120mm fans is a bit excessive? The 300r seems quite popular for gaming builds and only has 2.

I hate how excessively analytic and paranoid I am when it comes to stuff like this.

Nothing wrong with taking your time and geting to know your parts. Prices can fluctuate too which makes balancing the budget tricky sometimes.

Not a fan of bitfenix? for example the Shinobi

End of day case comes down to personal preference, if you find your temperatures could be a bit better it's only a case of spending another £10 or so :P

It feels like trying to get to know my parts was all I was ever destined to do at this point as opposed to building and enjoying my PC.

Thanks for your feedback guys. HIS HD IceQ's have come recommended to me which have very good coolers , and I won't be overclocking so any decent case with a few fan will keep my pc quite cool won't it? Whilst I know next to nothing about cooling or building in general I''m very big on reliability and getting the most out of my components.

That's why I have used Gigabyte kit. 3 year Uk based warranty on the mobo and GPU. The mobo also has a dual BIOS which is a nice safety feature.

I used the OEM i5K as it is a little cheaper. It has a shorter warranty and no heatsink but I added a good value heatsink incase you ever get tempted to up the clock speed a little. If you wanted the extra warranty on the retail CPU I wouldn't blame you.....pity you just missed the CPU on offer :(

I was going to check those parts out but though I would leave it until I get home and can focus more , sorry if it seemed as if I was over looking your suggestions , much appreciated.
