Hi all,

Building a new PC for a friend who has a budget of £1200, and have based the following spec on threads I've read in here of late. Can you just check it over and make sure I haven't missed anything off please?

Any thoughts on improvements would be welcome too, but he wants the case even though I said it comes with a PSU he doesn't need. I thought the Corsair would be better based on what I've read, plus I have one and I think it's great. Would the Corsair be ok to power all this lot though? Vista Ultimate is also a requirement as he uses a domain at home and has to connect to various networks for work. Also I've put in 2 hard drives as he prefers to have files and os/apps on separate physical disks.

Looks an excellent setup! OcUK just got the 320GB AAKS's back in stock however, so I would change your 250GB's for the 320GB's as they are only about £3 more each. If you want to save a couple of quid from that then I think the MX-2 paste is cheaper the AS5.

Nice one, cheers guys. Are the 320Gb ones faster, or is it just the extra space for not much more money? So the PSU is fine for all this then?

Actually never noticed the case... I would ditch the Sonata since you're getting a Corsair HX520 and get the P182 instead which is about £3 extra but really worth it for the quietness and cable management it brings. Either that or get a Antec Nine Hunded which is £6 cheaper. The 320GB drives are just as fast, it was more a sake of getting them for the extra 70GB for onloy £2.50 :-)

Edit ~ Oh and the HX520 is perfectly fine for powering that system, even with overclocks.

Cheers flibby, much appreciated. I'll suggest the case change as it does seem a bit silly to get one with a PSU and buy another PSU as well. Drives change also makes sense.

Thanks very much :)
