Hello, i know you probably get a lot of these threads. I am 16 and in desperate need of a job, i have applied in many places with my cv but with no responses. So thought i would leave it to the good people of OCUK to criticize and give me suggestions on how to improve. Thank you for your help!

Owen Parker -CV

Personal profile
I am hard working and determined person and always strive to succeed within a role. I am confident at talking to customers and establishing and fulfilling their needs. Another of my qualities is that I am very self-motivated, punctual and like working independently but also function well within a team. I feel I stay calm when under pressure and do not allow it to affect my performance. I am self-sufficient and go by my own initiative as much as possible.

Experience
I have done a week’s work experience at Colchester Cycle Store that I arranged myself, which I thoroughly enjoyed and felt that I learned a lot from spending time serving customers and gaining confidence in this area. I attended Air Scouts for 3 year’s between the ages of 11-14, I feel that this was a good experience for me and helped me to improve my ability to talk to others, and to function by myself. I previously worked for News Quest and have done for over 3 years, working as a delivery agent delivering the Evening Gazette every evening; this encourages me to maintain my punctuality.

Put education before work experience.

Try and expand on work experience, make the most of what you have no matter how small it is.

What type of jobs are you applying for? Plenty of restaurants looking for Table/Waiting staff hold open nights which you can come down for and they aren't very picky!

Brief outline of role at above position

I go back about 7 years. When I get to roles that are not relevant to what im applying for I remove the outline of that role.

When completed it should run just over a page in your instance. I struggle to keep mine at 2 pages, and have to be a bit creative :p
