I'm after some advice on my first system build. Here are my specs. I will be using some old components with the new hardware. I'd like advice on the choice of motherboard and memory as I find these most confusing and difficult to work out the differences between specs. I will be using the rig for computer gaming, RAW photo editing and maybe in the future some video editing. I aim to get another graphics card in the future to go SLI when funds allow. I also hope in future to run a SSD drive. At most I will run two HDD's and one SSD in future.

Basically I would like your thoughts on the motherboard selection as I am not sure I would require all the Asus P8Z68-V GEN3 features, and I don't want to spend any more on the price of this board. I would like a board with USB 3.0 and SLI capability as well as the simple BIOS/overclocking features some boards have. Ideally I would like to know if I could get away with using a cheaper board. Any thoughts on the memory would also be appreciated.

Great thanks for the advice. I think I will go along that route with the memory then. Are there any cheaper alternative motherboards that you can recommend that will fit my requirements?
