Looking to buy tonight.
Intel Core i5 750 2.66Ghz (Lynnfield) (Socket LGA1156) - OEM £159.99
Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3R Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard £133.99
OCZ Obsidian 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 Dual Channel (OCZ3OB1600LV4GK) £90.98
Noctua NH-U12P SE2 Dual Fan Quiet CPU Cooler (Socket LGA1366/LGA1156/LGA775/AM2/AM2+/AM3) £61.99
Coming in at £460.
I want these components to upgrade my rig (see sig). I will keep case, hard drives, psu and graphics.
I know the UD5 is on offer at an awesome price but I will never use Xfire or SLI or eSATA etc.
I just want a good motherboard with sata/usb 3 that can get my i5 to 4ghz.
My question is, will it all work well and does the UD3R have any overclocking advantage over the UD3, as I went on the manufacturer's website and the UD3R has 12 phase power. (I am talking P55A so both have Sata3 and USB3).
Do ram timings make any real world difference?? I can get some CAS7 ram from elsewhere but it costs £20 more (still 1600mhz).
Thanks
