Check my spec please - in a hurry!

Just realised i've got sn850 specced rather than sn770 I know nothing about these drives. What is the difference?

Are they OK for just general data storage too?

Is 64gb not going to run well in all four slots? happy to back it back down.
AMD chips don't do 4 dimms well.
if you need 64gb then get 2x32 sticks instead
also unlikely to hit 6000mhz with 64gb so can save a few bob by getting 5600mhz
ie you'd probably be better off with 2x 32gb 5600mhz ram

850x has a dram cache and better performance than the 770
whilst the 770 is very decent for the price, you have a >£3k computer so i wouldn't settle
for a boot/programs/games drive get the 850x, for media then the 770 is more than sufficient (does not need the highest performing drives)

also wouldn't bother with the SATA drives

thanks both, may be 64gb is just overkill? my current build has 32 so just felt like more is better. shall i stick to 32 and run it faster? i don't do anything particularly intensive other than leave a million apps and windows running

What are you using on average right now? I'd be surprised if you're anywhere near 32GB, but I suppose it depends on the apps.

I'm at 39 percent used right now but i'm not doing very much. i think you're right re me not stressing 32 though

It sounds like you answered your own question :D Though, if you're buying an X3D then the speed factor is much less important than a non-X3D because they care less about RAM speed.

Alright then, thank you gentleman for all the advice. That is all now ordered.

I will try to update once i have everything in hand. Hopefully build next week.
