Well, after searching all over the web I finally decided to just go with Overclockers, it cost £6 more and to be honest, I'd rather go with a company that has such good customer feedback and have one straight up delivery so its definitely worth paying.

What do you think of that setup guys?

Whats it to be used for fella?

If its primarily gaming then you could swap the 2600k out for a 2500k as in gaming terms theres no difference. With the savings you could look at a 64GB M4 SSD as a boot drive.

Other than that it looks good to me.

Do you have a SATA hdd in your current PC you could use in the new PC? With the HDD prices as they are it seems like a ripoff to buy one when you don't have to. With the money you save you could pick up a 64gb SSD, or put a few extra beans in and get a 120gb.
Other than that it looks fine.

Looks good to me :D

I have that case by the way, and I like it :D

Only thing is, as your drive is not a blu-ray one, I don't think you need to get the retail one, you can get OEM and save a bit of money there. The only reason you need retail is for a blu-ray one so you get the software to play blu-rays, you don't need any special software for a normal drive so might aswell get OEM

^^^ I think I am right in saying that, but let someone confirm it :)

The height of the ram maybe a issue, then there is the board, why no G3?

You should really really try to avoid buying a new HD right now. Try and recycle an old one or maybe pick something up second hand.

Will you be planning to go SLi in the future, as the Asus card is a triple slot one and may cause cooling issues with 2 cards.

if ordering today go for http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-252-SE cheaper(£19 cheaper) and larger capacity, tho only 20 left

the psu is out of stock, if you don't mind not being modular could change to

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-004-XF&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat= xfx use psus made by seasonic so no worrys about not known brand(antec and corsair also use seasonic in some of their models).

or due to the saving on the hard disk could get

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-047-CS&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-001-XF&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat= silver rated so save a bit of money on the electricty bill compared to the corsair, tho depends if you can stand the colour of the fan :)

if you plan on sli the triple slot cooler will restrict the airflow, if you're not planning on sli you can save money on the motherboard and psu

mb http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-364-GI&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1990

psu can go for 650w instead of 750w

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-117-AN&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=

change ram to http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-094-KS as mentioned the fins on the corsair will interfer with the cooler.

you don't need the thermal compound at the moment, some comes pre-applied on the cooler so save the £9(even then the mx-2/mx4 is better).

with the money saved from the motherboard, psu and tim get a 64gb ssd

hehe, so after reading through this thread you can come to the conclusion that your spec is fine apart from the:

Video card
CPU
Motherboard
PSU
HDD
Memory
Optical drive
thermal compound

but your Case and Heatsink and fan seem fine.

don't you just love these forums :p

:)

tho speaking of cases I'd personally go with http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-075-SV&groupid=701&catid=7&subcat= but maybe out of the ops budget ;)

or a more 'budget' option http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-056-CS&groupid=701&catid=7&subcat= tho to me from the front it looks a bit tarted up version of the antec 100 :)

yes but the tranquilo is out of stock.

chop chop you're running out of time on the hard disk.

if not in hurry to order tonight tomorrow new set of offers are due with the new 'this week only' offers 23rd - 30th due.

No I do not. I needed a whole tower. The only current machine I have is a Macbook Pro.

I have the money now and don't mind paying more to get it earlier rather than waiting. I need to build a PC for an assignment in the near future so I thought Id go the extra way and build something I'd use a lot for multiple things. It also means I can sell the console and make some money back. :)

No. I just want a decent system that I can play games with and do my work on with no problem.

The GTX570 plays Skyrim on max settings which is good and the i7 2600k + 8GB RAM is good for other stuff. I went with Samsung on the hard drive purely on the basis that over the years they've come across to me as a far more reliable company than Seagate, of whom i've had a few problems with products wise and I really can't be bothered having to have to send things back and forth, as I'm living away from home at university. I can always add a 120GB SSD later on to put my OS on. Its not a priority at the moment though. :p

even if you don't want the seagate you'll have to order tonight if you want the 570 for £246 as that finishes tomorrow morning/afternoon when the new offers come into effect(not sure what time the offes change over).

whats your max budget?

i2700k oem £250 free bf3
gigabyte z68ap-d3 £85
kingston hyperx genesis 16gb pc3-12800 1600mhz £72 maybe overkill but good price
corsair a50 £25
antec truepower new modular 650w £70
asus 570 direct cuii £246
cm elite 430 £40
samsung spinpoint f3 320gb £79
samsung dvdrw £20
deivery £12.5
total £899.5 + £12 if you want retail cpu so still with in the price inyour spec in op. are you able stretch £40 to the corsair carbide 400r case(£80)?

I already ordered my listed spec earlier, I was quite happy with it myself and I can always add more RAM and an SSD later. I can also then upgrade the GPU when the newer cards come out and the prices drop :p

The GTX570 is good enough to play Skyrim on max settings, the CPU is good and the Motherboard is good so overall I'm happy with it :)
