Opinions?

Is there anything I have missed?

Could I make it cheaper with same performance?

The pc I am using now was my first build, this will be my second, is there anything changed in the way PC's are built or is it the same?

The pc wont be overclocked (but I may be tempted but unlikely) and is used for general use, mainly gaming.

I know this will be a lot faster than my current setup (see sig but replace GC with 6600gt) but how much faster? I just want to look forward to it even more knowing this will be a kick ass machine! :D

Thx

The performance increase will no doubt blow your mind. I mean come on the graphic card is 4 generations newer than the one in your sig, and the CPU is 5 generations newer, of course it's going to kick some serious butt!! ;)

No there are no changes in the way you build PC, there are new things of course e.g. LGA775 socket, PCI-E graphics, SATA...etc. But nothing you can't handle if you have built a PC before.

That looks like a solid spec, but I'm a little concerned about that GEIL 2Gb 6400C4 as they seem to have some issues with the latest batch, there are quite a few threads around here that are having similar problems with this kit.

Nope. Apart from cpu cooler or fans. Could get the S3 over the DS3 and save a tenner (the S3 has cheaper capacitors apparently).
