Building a tower for a friend. The PC is going to be used for music creation, surfing the net, watching movies and some very light gaming.

Edit: PSU & case will be provided.

This is what l have come up with:

Motherboard:
Asus M4A785D-M Pro AMD 785G (Socket AM3) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

CPU:
AMD Athlon II X4 Quad Core 620 2.60GHz (Socket AM3)

RAM:
Patriot Viper 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-8500C5 Dual Channel

HDD:
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM

Optical Device:
Samsung SH-S223B/BEBE 22x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter

Maximum budget for the PC is around £260.
Is the above setup the best for the price, or are there any other options to consider?

i would have corsair ram instead since they are available for similar price, but you havent got a graphics card...but looking at the benchmarks you may get away without one if you plan to play everything on low settings.

i would suggest a Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4730 512MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

or OcUK GeForce 9600 GT 512MB GDDR3 PCI-Express Graphics Card

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-093-OK&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=356

or even Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4670 1024MB DDR3 PCI-Express Graphics Card

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-209-SP&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1274

any of these card should be available around £60 and it should be enough as long as you dont play crysis on high settings

As above, go AM3/DDR3 to 'future-proof' it.

Need for GFX will depend on what you mean by 'light-gaming' i.e. any specific game? res? etc?
