Check out my experimental HTTP -> P2P Gateway

It works in a browser for one (including iphone). Also it isn't restricted by country, record label and so on.

But the fact you won't discuss where the music is coming from implies that it is illegal. So what's the point in all your work when you will get shutdown or hit with legal action should it become remotely popular?

It is just for fun. Remember that both youtube and grooveshark started with all kinds of dubious content.

At the end of the day it is just a proxy to user uploaded content which has been nicely organised for you. Is your isp liable if you use their proxy server to download music? I don't think so.

The ISP isn't liable, but you certainly may be :p

Fair play though I guess, nice job on what you've done anyway, looks and works well, even if you're stealing :D

Works very nicely but none of the links work on the front page for me and I'm not getting a logo or anything (I'm guessing there should be one?), though a funny green box does appear on mouseover. It might be by corporate LAN playing silly buggers, though, so if it's fine for everyone else, then ignore me.

There is no branding because I'm working on the technical bits first. I really would like to get full text searching on the artist/release but I'm still trying to index the data after24 hours.

Once that is done you should see some cool stuff like autocomplete on the search, faster page loading and track finding. ;)

If you feel your copyright has been violated you can request to have the file purged. This is effectively how GS operates and it is above board.

Listening to Robbie Williams though you probably have more serious concerns..

Don't mean to be cynical but is there anything you can show us besides your word that this is P2P? The songs could be coming from anywhere for all we know.
