Check out my new toy..........

Picked it up today, rode it the 145 miles home, it was amazing, truely amazing bike. loads better than the GSXR600 K1 I test rode. its just so light and flickable. It also actaually has some midrange grunt (not a lot, but a lot more than a few other 600's) the fuel injection is fantastic, the delivery is amazing.

Considering for some reason the owner has very tight fistedly swapped the 1500 miles old BT014's for some dunlop D208rr tyres that are right on the wear indicator and 190 section rear so too big for the back wheel, it handles very well. Going to take her upto demon tweeks tommorow and get some proper rubber fitted (probably get the 70 profile front, rather than the standard 60). then we will really see what she can do.

I'll get some pics up when the tail tidy/single seat/smaller indicators are on. might be a while until I get the new can.

I'm well chuffed!!! :-)

Nice bike, nice price.. enjoy...

I bought a brand new GSXR600 K1 years ago, but was very torn over the R6 at the time, the Yammy and Suzuki where the real 'racers' bikes.. the 04 R1 is a much better bike again.. you lucky sod!!!

:)

Glad to hear you enjoyed it mate :) Just keep doing so.

I use BT020's on my bike, thats a 180 rear and a 110 (might be 120) front. I have no problems with them, if you look at this months "RIDE" mag it comes with a tyre guide which I fould very intresting. I would like the BT014's next, they are a more slick treaded tyre and what with me only ever riding in the dry these days I think they may have that bit more grip for the bends!

got the BT014's with a 70 profile front, what a difference, the bike handles soooooooo well now, its just so eager to turn and very neutral.
Im loving it! big reccomentd on the BT014's if anyone is interested, fast road tyre, loads of grip, fast warm up, and apparently the attack a track quite well also!

I am considering a set of 014's next, seeing as the bike is used purely in the dry I think the more slick tread the 14's come with will really help me through the bends :)

had the 020's on my 400, but this R6 handles soooo well anyway I cant really comment on the difference is, it just feels rock solid even when quite a long way over. What can I say is they rock! Just enough tread to be OK in the rain, but hardly a commuter tyre! More OK if you get caught out.
But its not too track focused that it take 30 mins of riding to warm up, then they go cold as soon as you stop at traffic lights!

On the bike front, the tail tidy and smaller indicators will go on tonight, just got to sort the exhaust now. Thinking either an Arrow or a Blue flame EVO in plain titanium. I think it will have to be high level also, looks so much better!

Good stuff, keep us updated with pics :) I see you may be attending MM4, I was the only one on 2 wheels last time but I still had loads of fun, if you came I am sure you would too :)

Im sure we could keep ourselves entertained is there any roundabouts nearby? lol, I may pop along, I keep meaning to check the date!

Cracking arseitch that mate, looks like a bargain :) What's the insurance like? I understand the R6 is the insurance bargain of its class?

yep, I'm 20 and all my no-claims is on my car and my insurance is £380.
That isnt restricted either, I passed my test when I was just 18 so have a full unrestricted license.

I had already decided I wanted a 2003/2004 R6 anyway as they are so damn sexy, but the GSXR and ZX636 were both over £1000 to insure!
