I went and did a silly thing didn't I
I'm not long back in the country and thought I'd take the car for a good spin. In fact I wanted some new oil and filters so I was on my way to the autofactors when I thought I better fill my screen wash up at the services (what with this bad weather). After filling it up I shut the bonnet and without checking the catch is engaged I drive off down the carriageway.
Well you guessed it, at 60mph the force of the wind literally whipped my bonnet right up and bent it back with such force it smashed on the windscreen leaving me driving blind. To say I was shocked was an understatement. I managed to pull over safely out of the path of other cars. I wrenched the bonnet back down to find the windscreen has some almighty cracks and some small dents are in the roof. The bonnet catch had rusted and didn't engage properly! The bonnet is trashed, but I guess it's good no one was hurt.
So here is a tip for you - ALWAYS CHECK YOUR BONNET LATCH.
