I was out in a club the other night and paid the girl £20 for a bottle.
I never usually check the change but for some reason decided too. She had given me a tenner back, two quid and some shrapnel - meaning she'd done me out of about £6.
Before I had chance to say anything she was up the other end of the bar so I went over and asked one of the door staff to get the manager.
He came over to me a few minutes later and asked me what till it was. I told him it was the black girl and pointed to the till. He went over, counted the cash and disappeared for a few minutes. Then he came back with a voucher for a free drink. I said that wasn't good enough and he said it was all he could do so I left it at that.
I'm not really bothered about the money or the management not giving it me back, just the audacity of the **** behind the bar.
I can understand them making a few quid here and there from people like me who are usually drunk to check it, but not £6. Also, the manager took a b-line to that particular till before I'd even answered him, so I reckon she'd been at it before. I also think the till was obviously up otherwise he'd have told me to **** off.
So anyway, make sure you check your change people. Certainly explains some of those nights where I've ended up spending a fortune.
