Check your nuts.

allof you guys that have had it happen because a mechanic didn't tighten them properly, do you not loosen them and tighten them up yourself afterwards.

I know I always do, don't trust anyone else with my wheel nuts. One of the tyre fitters at Kwik-Fit in Bracknell asked why I did it so told him and he said fair enough.

This will be the main cause, also remember that a torque wrench can fail.

The bolts should be torques up with a torque wrench to the specified torque. If you see a mechanic using just a cracker-bar or a windy-gun, ask him to use a torque wrench and the torque from the poster on the wall.
