Reminds me when I was driving along the M8 about to overtake a council lorry when the front driver side wheel fell off and rolled in front of me onto the central reservation. The sparks were awesome.
allof you guys that have had it happen because a mechanic didn't tighten them properly, do you not loosen them and tighten them up yourself afterwards.
I know I always do, don't trust anyone else with my wheel nuts. One of the tyre fitters at Kwik-Fit in Bracknell asked why I did it so told him and he said fair enough.
This will be the main cause, also remember that a torque wrench can fail.
The bolts should be torques up with a torque wrench to the specified torque. If you see a mechanic using just a cracker-bar or a windy-gun, ask him to use a torque wrench and the torque from the poster on the wall.
