CheckDisk CHKDSK Speed?

I'm running CHKDSK via the Recovery Console (from Vista CD) and on step 4 of 5 and it is taking ages.

I'm running a Repair on it too.

Is this to be expected?

Also will repair delete any of my files?

It checks every sector so it can take a very long time indeed depending on the drives size.

Just got a message saying that "Windows replaced bad clusters in file 492369", its the only one that's come up.

Should I be worried?

Keep an eye on it and make sure you backup anything you don't want to lose. Sometime you can get one bad sector, fix it and it'll run fine for years and other times it can die shortly after.

I'd be inclined to run it again and see if finds anymore, if more are found around the same cluster number then time to do a quick backup.
