Evening All,

I'm having a few issues with my PC, prob best to start at the beginning.

I was just about to upgrade the Processor so decided to first upgrade to the latest BIOS version. As normal I forgot to reset BIOS / remove the overclock before the upgrade. The upgrade seemed to go fine, rebooted and Windows blue screened. Decided it must not like the overclock after the upgrade so reset the clock speeds back to default and rebooted.

Every since its been running a checkdisk. It fixed various issues with the file system etc and then started the third stage which is where it has been since about 20:00 so about 3 and a half hours. There is still constant HDD activity although unsure if its locked or not.

The last event on the checkdisk is:

Repairing the unreadable security descriptors data stream

Current System Details:

Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe
Phenom X3 8450 @ 2.5GHz
4gig OCZ 1000
Windows Vista Ultimate X64

The Windows Install is only 2 or 3 months old so it seems very early to me to be showing issues like this :(

I'm at the point of wanting to try restarting again but I'm worried it may well kick off check disk again!

Any ideas? Anyone seen this error or similar before? Want to get it resolved so I can upgrade CPU :p

Thanks,

Michael
