Does anyone know what software/method I could use to check what if anything I am missing from a cloned Windows 7 OS partition which had 16 read errors at 95% copy.

Ideally some data recovery type software that lets you specify a sector range (in this case 195392671>87) as it would be a bit painful to do the lot as the partition is 96GB with about 80GB data.

Try Spinrite, Not sure if you can check the filesystem but it'll let you scan for errors in a particular sector range

I've pretty much given up on this now the fault appeared when I tried to copy a 3GB .wtv file locking the PC solid. Memory tested ok and the same thing happened when attempting the file copy with ubuntu in live cd mode. I deleted the file so new data possibly hasn't be reallocated to the dodgy sector range and all the copied files are ok.

active@undelete let me look at the sectors, but unfortunately only in hex view which meant nowt to me.

Cheers anyway.
