checking flash/browser version

Hi all,

How easy would it be to create a button that when clicked, checks the users browser and flash version, then checks whether that flash version or browser was up to date?

Our websites are flash heavy and we constantly have issues with members having out of date browsers or flash.

Any specific language? or would it have to run as something like an active X controller etc?

Don't use Flash?

Seriously though, I've used this script in the past. It would be worth considering having a non-flash version though if a big percentage of your visitors don't have the right version of flash player.
