Checking HD within RAID1 ARray

My Dad has told me that his PC is throwing up errors on his PC regarding suggesting rebulding the RAID1 array due to inconsistenacies. Now; I'm not at the PC but will be goign to see it tomorrow so before I rebuild I suppose it would be a good idea to check the disks them selves.

Is there a way of check each disk within the RAID1 array without disconnecting the other one, and if so find what the proble might be.

Can't remember exact specs of it all atm so apolgies for that.

Download the free diagnostic tools from the relevant manufacturer and create a boot CD / floppy. You might need to change the HDD controller to IDE or AHCI mode for the scan only. The documentation will tell you. Do deselect any option to automatically fix errors though as that could wipe out your array.
