Currently I have raid 0+1.
This afternoon started up my computer, it then restarted seconds into the start up and is sounding a lot quieter.

How do i go about checking to see if one of the hard-drives has failed?
Would/should something tell me that its happened?

Depend what controller you're using, if it's an old Promise/Via board look at the Windows RAID utility for that, if ICH10 (Intel based) use the Intel Matrix Storage controler manager. You'll find these in your All Programs list - not something you use everyday perhaps. You can also get into the chipset BIOS during boot and information on the drives will be shown there. Again, which keys to press depends what hardware you have.

cheers
when it started up the 2nd time, tried to keep my eye out when it listed the hard-drives, and it looked all ok. Probally just me being paranoid.
also cant see the inter matrix etc whic I'm sure i used.

MB is a gigabyte uhm..blank....dq6 x38  totally just draw a blank on it.
