Hey guys i'm very close to having the funds to build a new PC.

I was just wondering if the following is the best bang for my buck that i can get? Or can you recommend any changes that i may need?

Looks pretty good, only would no go for the oc'ed versions of the GTX, go for the cheapest one from ocuk, save some money and oc it

as mentioned maybe change the GTX to a 8800GT.

dont go for the bundle, buy separate as the bundle includes the retail processor and the si-128 cpu cooler, get the oem processor and cooler of you're choice, go for 6400 memory over the 8500.

Thanks guys...
Which 8800 GT do you recommend i wasnt sure about the ocuk own brand one tbh.

I'd like to get a GTX that is faster at stock speed as i'm not 100% sure i'll want to overclock a great deal... of course i will do a bit but not really like i used too :-)

However i noted that someone pointed out a 8800 GT is faster, could you elaborate a bit on this please?

Also regarding the cooler i picked the bundle because i thought that cooler would be the best to get atm. Any reason to switch out the cooler for something else?

i'd go with bfg or evga, if only for the warrenty they offer.

main difference between GT and GTX is the number of stream processors, but you're looking at £293 for the cheapest gtx and £182 for a BFG GT, can't say that i would be willing to pay £100 extra for the GTX.

no problem with the cooler, just the fact that the processor in the bundle is the retail version so it comes with its own cooler, better to get an oem cpu and whichever cooler you want.

Ahh ok thanks.

So its the price difference compared to performance gain between the gt and gtx..... That makes sense of course.

In terms of the bundle I'll certainly look at buying the bits seperatley if its going to cost me a little less =)

Thanks guys....

I'm still open to suggestions on things to change of course as i'm not looking at buying this till the end of the month anyhow.

Are there any expected price cuts or new Graphics cards due out in the next month or two that i should consider waiting for?

The 8800GT should have dropped in price by the end of this month as the initial demand for it should have subsided. And the new Ati card is apparently out tomorrow, so you might want to see how that performs over the 8800GT.
