Checking windows vista version

Just received a new laptop with a pentium dual core T2330 and vista home premium. How do I find out whether I have 32 or 64bit vista?

start - right click computer - properties.

will say system type : 64-bit operating system

Lol such a simple answer. Ah well I've only got the 32bit system. Would it be worth switching to the 64bit version with a pentium dual core. Tbh I'm so out of the loop I don't even now if the pentium duals are 64bit as the core duos and onwards are.

Yes the Pentium Dual core are Core 2 processors, same as e4xxx but with half the cache, they support Intel 64.
edit - I was thinking of the desktop ones, but yeah your mobile one is about the same.

Aren't the Pentium Dual Core CPUs based on the older Core Duos?

no, they are core 2 duo

Ahh so I see yes, the new ones are based on Merom. Wasn't aware they'd moved away from the old Core Duo architecture already.
