This doesn't fill me with hope. Ordered last night from OCUK and paid for the Saturday delivery. The thing is I live in a small village called Singleton which is 1 mile from Goodwood which is having its annual "Festival of Speed". This means tens of thousands of extra cars going through the village

I did ring Citylink earlier in the day and they assured me the delivery would be met, after reading this I am seriously worried!

I will say that I've never heard of City Link (or any courier) providing a poor Saturday delivery. They're set for pre-noon deliveries on Saturday and if they don't make that, they should still get there by 1pm at the latest, so you're generally assured of the kit arriving okay. I'm fairly confident I'll have my kit arrive tomorrow despite the problems today. The cost is a pain, though, especially when I've had to deal with my girlfriend taking a day off and paying for two deliveries just for this order.

It's basically forcing me to pay extra (and wasting a day off for my lady) for the poor service I've received! Crazy.

Never had a problem with city link _ever_. The site I normally order off has a "estimated delivery date" and its always spot on, I make sure someone is home on that date and my parcel is always delivered then - although its always about 1:30 lol!

i've had various experience and generally very good.

Recently I had ordered from 2 etailers and selected a day for it to turn up.

Total of 3 parcels

1st parcel came at about 1100 (this was 2 packages with this order) and only one turned up.

So phoned up City Link normal number told me to ring exeter depot. Which they said the other part of the package got misrouted to Plymouth. And going to be a day later. And I got told it be in AM and made sure driver was aware before 12. And also enquired about the other order and said it still should turn up with a different driver.

2nd Parcel came about 1605 as they said.

3rd parcel which was part of the 1st parcel turned up about 10.

Never had battered packages either.

South West England (Exeter) must be lucky with City Link.

Maybe we should do a thread about individual area's about City Link.

Quick update: My antec P182 and my Corsair 620W was delivered at 8.38 AM, fantastic. In my euphoria I have to say Citylink are the best couriers in the world! (/brown nosing).

Now to get building

Ordered my equipment on a next business day delivery and the City Link driver closed it off as nobody home - girlfriend has been calling all day in a paranoid fashion wondering where her PC was and at 4:07pm today a City Link driver says he arrived at our door and tried our buzzer and nobody was home. I called her up at 4:20 to check and she says she's been home the entire day and nobody has buzzed at all! "Carded" it says despite no card being left (apparently "We don't leave cards at flat buildings as anyone could pick them up" - so why say "Carded" on your website?!). Since we're not home on Monday I have to shell out with a Saturday Delivery fee. Very disappointed, especially that I have to pay the cost of this. Especially suspicious when I said "Can we bring the driver back?" and the girl at City Link said "No, I know this driver has been running extremely late today and he won't be able to make a lot of his deliveries" - I imagine at the end of the day when he had to carry a large, heavy box up three flights of stairs he thought "Sod it" and just took off.

Wait until the delivery driver arrives and give him a smack in the mouth

Even if it isn't the same driver......I'm sure he'll be more than happy to pass it on to yesterdays driver

I must admit though.....CL have never messed me about, I'm in Fife. DHL though, as posted above....can make delivering anything a complete and utter rubik's cube.

Our company uses City Link and i found them great to be honest, but its not down to the company but the people they employ

No matter how good the company is it only takes one to**er to leave you with a bad impression.

When i ordered my rig from OCUK the driver was prompt and very proffesional.

Well its saturday today, and ive just checked the status of my delivery online. My parcels at the depot now but wont be delivered till monday when I start my new job and I wont be in to sign for it!!! I just phoned city link to ask if I could pick it up today, but they said this wont be possible until monday evening. So I cant even collect the parcel myself. Really not happy bout this.
