Nicely focused on the eyes and the compositions are good but the tones are flat I think and she looks really stunning and seems to me she has a killer dimple when she smiles, do you have none of her laughing / smiling?
I can see where you're going. The model is great, poses are good, eyes are spot on but the processing or perhaps lighting just doesn't quite put the icing on the cake.
Aye, it's good stuff - but imo the shadows are too harsh. I know absolutely nothing about studio lighting and what it can do, but from my stage lx days, I know that soft shadows on faces can be a very good thing. Hard shadows don't tend to work as well. That said, the sort of silly effects you can do (straight down light only) are amazing Would like to have a play at some point with a camera......
They were direct lights, but not pointed directly at her. Unfortunately they dont have any softboxes, however they do have an opaque white umbrella that I will have a go with.
I like them! 3 being the best for me. Awesome detail kept in the eyes!
Lighting is a little harsh though, i'm by no means an expert in this but it looks like you could have done with placing a reflector on the opposite side from the light, maybe angled up slightly to help the shadows and also a softbox directly above to light the hair nicely.
Looks like you got the exposure spot on though, did you go by the in camera meter, or did you meter off the model? I've always been wondering about whether its worth springing the extra cost of those dedicated meters...
