Chess club

Bit late, but for anyone who is interested the answer is of course more variations of games of chess than atoms in the observable universe. A conservative estimate by Claude Shannon puts the numbers of possible games of chess at 10 to the power of 120 whereas the number of atoms in the observable universe is a mere 10 to the 82.

I've recently started to get into chess as a distraction from potential redundancy in work. My ELO is only around 400 but I'd be interested in the OCUK Chess Club if its still going.

You have to wonder if Jeff Lynne plays chess, and if he does what his ELO rating is.

edit: I googled it and it turns out Jeff Lynne's ELO rating is "yes".
