Good game. I was worried about your rook on the f file when you took my knight, and with your queen not far behind, but thankfully I managed to keep you busy so you didn't get a chance to put me in a tricky check.

@meths well played meths. Got my first 'brilliant move' according to the post game analysis. Thought I had you early on but couldn't find a way to checkmate. You did a great job with those damn rooks.

Decimated on my last game with @rangor gubbins . I seem to either win easily or lose easily at the moment, no inbetween.

Yep, that was an unusual game. I figured you were busy / preoccupied as usually we have a close and tough battle.

Sorry i've been incommunicado for a while. Work and family life been keep me very busy. Hope you're all still playing chess.
I really need to improve my game so that i have a chance of beating @meths!

I seem to be playing chess more against bots than humans at the moment - I've beaten up to, and including, Wendy (1500 rated) with 3*s / no assistance / takebacks.

Who knows if I'll develop much further than that, as I think that would require true study of openings which I've never been bothered with!

Thanks for the reminder, think i'll play some bots. Similar to you i've managed to beat Antonio (1500) with 3 stars. Will try Wendy sometime.

Chess club, without looking it up, what do you think there is more of, atoms in the observable universe or possibly variations for games of chess? I'll post the answer tomorrow.

Bit late, but for anyone who is interested the answer is of course more variations of games of chess than atoms in the observable universe. A conservative estimate by Claude Shannon puts the numbers of possible games of chess at 10 to the power of 120 whereas the number of atoms in the observable universe is a mere 10 to the 82.

Then there's the number of times I lose to @meths, which is 10 to the power 6

I'm not convinced it's luck, although we've certainly had some close games. I'm happy to try again though!

@Chuk_Chuk good game but it should have been yours. I never saw the checkmate available to you near the end, luckily for me, neither did you.
