worth spending a bit of cash on Chess master 10 tbh its the best chess game you can get, that or war chess which are doing a free trial !

If you want to learn, then Chessmaster 10 is the way to go. IIRC you can get it for about £10 so it's definitely worth it.

It not only teaches you, plays against you but also includes famous games and an academy with tutorials by IM Josh Waitzkin and GM Larry Christianson.

i used to play chess with my grandad when i was 7 , id never got back in to it as he passed away when i was 8 half. This might tempt me again.

If you want to play chess online, www.pogo.com is good for fast games and I also play correspondence chess at www.gameknot.com. Both are free to join (although you're limited on the number of games you can play simultaneously on gameknot).

Yeah I like the vista one it was a nice to get it as i didnt know it was there

Yes, I have Vista Ultimate, and love the chess game on it. However I wanted another chess game for a different pc, not running Windows Vista.

Also, I want to learn chess better....any ideas where on the web I can go to?
