Hi all.

In the last few days I have been really hooked on the music produced by Chicane.
I orderd two of their albums, but couldn't seem to find one of their albums called 'Far From The Maddening Crowds' - I did a search on an auction site and found some but they were going for over £30! I found out it is a pretty rare album - I added it to my watch list and I was going to buy it, but earlier today I was bored and just typed "Chicane" into google and found their offical website.
On the front of their page on the news item; the following was added just 4 days ago:

'Far From The Maddening Crowds' Returns!

6th August 2007
Hot on the heels of the new album Somersault comes news of an imminent re-release of Chicane's first album, Far From The Maddening Crowds

This highly sought-after album will be released along with a bonus track - a brand new remix of the all-time classic Offshore

Far From The Maddening Crowds is coming soon to iTunes and selected retail stores on the Modena label. A release date will be announced on this website as soon as it is available.

It's such a coincidence, thank god I didn't go and pay £30 for it. Just thought I would let others know that they are re relasing probably their best album.

Chicane (pre 2004) absolutely rocks. Such fantastic music, i cant get enough of some of the vocal stuff like autumn tactics and no ordinary morning

With regards FFTMC you can sometimes find it quite cheaply in places like hvm or virgin, sometimes.

I agree, been listening to a lot of chicane as of recent and I can't get enough it.

Now sure about the 'pre 2004' comment, as their recent stuff has been good & fresh

Used to listen to the first 2 albums a lot when I was at uni. Great stuff and quite 'mellow' to have on in the background.

As it happens, it was the release of 'Offshore' which got me back into trance/dance music. In the mid-90s I'd got hooked on indie stuff like Oasis and OCS.

Never knew they had a new album out, will have to check it out.

And i'll admit i said the pre 2004 comment on the back of hearing stoned in love, please tell me that was a one off and his other newer stuff doesn't bare any resemblance?
