How much fat would be in a chicken omelette say made with 2 eggs and skimmed milk with NO cheese roughly. I'm thikning 10 -15 grams of fat ??

And would this be considered a healthy meal.

Thanks in advance

egg has 5grams of fat, but only 1.5grams is saturated..

depends how much milk and oil you cook with, milk should be pretty much nothing as you use so little.

healthy, kind of, if you eat it with a salad then yes.

will only be using a little veg oil in a pan. SO your going tobe looking ta 15 grams of fat inm total maxmium.
That sound about right ??

yep, just workout a table spoon of milk and a tablespoon of oil. Hold on.

tablespoon is 20ml.

skimmedmilk = o.6grams per oz = 0.6grams per tablespoon
oil = 28.4grams per oz = 19grams per tablespoon. sounds high to me.

Omellettes dont contain milk.

I always make them with milk

Nah, 3 eggs lightly beaten (so that white and yolk arent thoroughly mixed), add some sea salt and black pepper then cooked in a very hot pan for 1 minutes, moving them fast and allowing to 'set' for the last 15 seconds. Throw on a filling and roll onto a plate. Done.

Well according to some recipes they do ............

Either way just want to know if its failry low in fat and it looks like it is. So's its all good

Mmmm nearly solid protein meal. I'd like to see you try and poo after that one :D

Oh Visage you always know how to educate the proles on how to cook eggs <3

My eggs are very close to my heart. If someone brings me badly cooked eggs I just have to send them all back.

well i'll post back the results of my chicken omelette , never cooked one before

Plan is chicken, red and green peppers , mushrooms and some chillis cooked off before then beat 2 eggs with little milk. place previous ingredinats in frying pan and then pour misture over and cook till firmish , place under grill for a min or so

I dunno why, I just always have! I've never really questioned it before. I'll make sure my next one is without milk, and see how it tastes! :p

Sounds like the makings of a top omelette now. Maybe a bit of onion browned off too to complement the pepper?

The milk is only there to keep the egg soft, for people who over cook there eggs. If you can cook the eggs properly you don't need the Milk. So milk is essential to most people.

Well having said that I put marmite in both scrambled eggs and omelettes, and I know some people on here would be disgusted by that! :D
