Chilcot inquiry delayed, again.

Apparently the delay is caused by giving those individuals criticised in the report the right to reply before it's published. Mr Blair and Mr Campbell who started this whole mess by sexing up a document, are now being given the opportunity to sex one down.

Sexy time!?!

Same will happen with the Westminster paedophile ring inquiry. They have no interest in exposing anything, just how much they can cover up. And with Teresa May gunning for the top spot, she'll won't want to rock the boat too much

Haha well put, you'd think it was a plot from TToI

It has been delayed so we don't get to consider who runs the country based on the report till 2020 by then it'll all be long forgotten. The report will glaze over the truth.

What is most chilling is that the hawks in the Bush administration must know the risks involved. They must be aware of the anti-American feeling throughout the Middle East. They must be aware of the fear in Egypt and Saudi Arabia that a war against Iraq could unleash revolutions, disposing of pro-western governments, and replacing them with populist anti-American Islamist fundamentalist regimes.

Only to the Stop the War mob, the overwhelming majority of the population don't give a hoot.

Not saying they don't give a hoot but it is not a high priority for most, people know it needed doing but was carried out very badly

Daily Politics on BBC 2 at the moment both Labour and Tories excusing the delays. I have also heard the reasons from them both are, transparency , lessons to be learnt, not a whitewash, the delays will insure a complete and comprehensive inquiry.

So it looks like a massive cover up is on the cards when or even if this report is ever released.

Considering 1/9th of the population physically got up and marched in London before the war Id suggest the stop the war "mob" is significantly greater than you think, especially now we know what destabilising Iraq has done for those living there (see ISIS).

Unfortunately no one will ever be brought to account and all the lies will be brushed under the table and possibly written out of history.

I can't believe they couldn't give the people who need a right to reply some kind of deadline that meant no delay would be necessary. I suppose the longer they delay it the less people will care and the more can be swept aside.

You are going to have to provide a source for that - I can't believe for one minute that 1/9th of the population of this country were present without some sort of figure fudging going one.

Which would be ironic :D

The British Stop the War Coalition (StWC) held a protest in London which it claimed was the largest political demonstration in the city's history. Police estimated attendance as well in excess of 750,000 people[32] and the BBC estimated that around a million attended.[33] At the finish rally in Hyde Park, the organiser's announced 3 million attended. It remains probably the largest protest march in UK history.[34] The protest was organised under the slogan "No war on Iraq - freedom for Palestine"

1/9th is stretching it but *if* 3 million marched in London, that would have been around 5% of the English population.

I was thinking 7 million, obviously my memory was bigging the story up a little...

Either way 3 million is a huge number of people to physically get off their backsides and head to a protest. That's just the ones that went. The was in Iraq was heavily disliked by a significant proportion of the population at the time.

Forget about not being published before the election, now it may not arrive at all this year. We might have the deficit cleared by the time it's out :p

Indeed. Very strange how a dossier on alleged paedophilia at Westminster goes missing.

As for Ms May, she really is deluded if she thinks she is the one to lead the Tories.

On the subject of the Chilcot Inquiry, I foresee a whitewash where the 'metropolitan elite' who need protecting will be protected.
