Hi
I watched Children of Men last nite. All in all I think it was a fairly decent film. Acting was ok, but what really stole it for me was the filming. Theres one bit when there running through the refuge camp where as far as I can tell its about a 4 or 5 min action sequence without a single cut, filmed entirely by one chase camera man...
But my experience was a little tainted by the fact I kept thinking "wow, this looks just like the HL2 universe... just without aliens"
Did anyone else think this? Its all the cages and people being hurded around by police, and put into city sized refugee camps, and the loudspeaker chatting away all over the place. Going out into the country and being attached by rebels, etc etc. I really think that if you replaced the police with combine then the Britain portrayed in Children of Men could definatly be a very good depiction of what the HL2 world could be like in real life...
HL2 was 2004 and Children of Men was 2006, so they could have taken some inspiration..
