Chilli

Seem to remember Adam Richman on Man V Food eating some sushi cone things, which had ten levels of spiciness, the last level having ghost chilli, jalapeno, habanero... all mixed into the sauce that the tuna was in. I think there was some ghost chilli sprinkled on top.

Can't imagine why you'd do it. I like chilli, and I love spicy food, but when it's so hot that it's just pain... what's the point?! At curry places I tend to go for something like a jalfrezi or a karahi. Like a good whack of chilli in my chilli con carne though :)

I like a good bit of chilli in food ... but as I've got older my gut likes it less and I know that what I am liking now I'll be regretting later (not in the form of any flaming rings ... more intense cramping) ... doesn't always stop me but does mean I think more before I order food.

I've never understood the mindset though of having something as hot a possible ... I agree with vicisthebest above, when it's just so hot it's painful then what's the point ... I want something spicy but is also full of flavour as well, not something that is just too hot to taste anything or enjoy.

Normally I'll go for a Lamb curry, either a Tawa, Jalfrezi, Rogan Josh or possibly a Chettinad. But how hot things are depends a lot on where you are eating them ... the Indian takeaway I've had my last couple from seems a bit milder and more flavoursome than just lets-go-for-max-burn so even their "hot" dishes are a pleasant meal.

I like hot food, the hotter the better.

Alas the next day is not so good, it upsets my rhythms something chronic. The old saying 'a camel pass through the eye of a needle', well put it in a hot curry and it'll get through no problem at all.
