Saw a programme on BBC yesterday saying that China's produces as much pollution as Europe and the USA COMBINED !!!.
Yet, they are not that bothered about the ozone etc.

Now, lets put my plastic bottle in that bin over there or I will get fined. ;)
 
Yes but all Europe and USA's manufacturing has be moved to China. We buy all this stuff that they make. We can't have it both ways.
 
Aye, it's predominantly western consumers looking for cheap goods that have fuelled the growth of the Chinese economy, if it wasn't them it would have been someone else.

And the government still insists that making me pay more for petrol or my one flight out of this country per year will change the environment.

One ancient bus in China pollutes more in one ten minute trip than i do in a month.

Have you ever noticed that the news over here and other parts of the West consistently portrays China's negative issues? What you hear here is not always true. :)

we need to make sure the public has a negative view of China for when we go to war with them :)
 
People need to understand something

Global warming will not kill our planet, it will just kill us.

When people start to realise it will be a threat to our surival things might start to chagne
 
Global warming is now a proven fact, the mechanism and mans contribution to the overall amount of heating isn't well understood though.

was katrina caused by global warming?

even if it was true it will mostly kill people in Africa, S.Asia and other places that will not be able to adjust or deal with disasters.

Good, best thing is to not accept any one person/groups view. Something is happening with the climate, exactly what and exactly why is still a grey area.
Oh, and weather stations? they don't account for much these days as global temperatures are recorded by satellite afaik.
