Following on from dreadi's thread, last night I had a chinese takeaway and I couldn't finish it. Whilst putting it in the microwave for next day as I often do, I was looked at as if I were a savage and told that it was yuk to do so.

I find chinese food tastes as good if not better the next day, rather like a good claret and it simply ages like a fine wine.

So, the question is would you eat chinese food the next day ?

a) Yes I would, it ages like a good port. Gout for the win.

or

b) No, It is a disgsusting practice and should be binned when you can't finish it.

Admins, could I have a poll please. I cannot let this slur lie. ;)

It is standard practice in the stolemyname household to reheat takeaways of any variety.

There is a certain allure about a deep fried chilli beef that has had an extra 24 hours to marinate in its own juices.

as its only chicken fried rice and chik chow id go with c - not as good but im still gonna eat it as its sill good, bit dry tho

It depends on the dish in my experience.

For example, the shredded crispy beef in OK sauce I had last week was absolutely divine when I reheated it the next day. Try doing that with Duck Vermicelli and the results arent too good.

On the whole though, reheating ***!

d) you mean there was actually some left?!?!

Perhaps we don't order enough, but we never have any left over (although we always leave the table with that rather full and bloted table!)

Even the dogs get a portion of prawn crackers to share (appart from the "crunch" sound every so often, it keeps them from annoying us as we're eating!!)

Eat it, without question. Next day chinese is awesome. Rice cold with soy sauce, everything else heated :)

Ant

I always leave some for the next day and it still tastes just as good. Except the seaweed, I eat that all when I get it.

Cold egg fried rice and some crispy shredded beef this morning. My parents had a takeaway and were gonna bin it  I told them I'd have it this morning.

Remember guys, don't re heat rice in a microwave!
