Chinese Takeaway Food

I always seem to get a chow mein of some variety or special fried rice. Recommend me some new dishes to try peeps. A little description of what is usually in them would also be handy ( I know they will vary slightly from place to place)

foo yung isn't really a real dish, what it really is over here is scramble eggs.

Therefore you have chicken foo yung, which is chicken in scrambled eggs.

So asking for egg foo young basically means "eggs with scrambled eggs"

different places are better at different things.. I usually get something from the chef's specials section if I haven't got any favourites from that place.. usually a nice surprise.

To OP -- I was the same, use to only get a Shredded Duck Chow Mein for years, then decided to change, and the above are those I usually decided between

Smoked shredded chicken or crispy chicken in a honey and chili sauce, damn i hate having an amazing chinese so close!

rice noodles singapore style is my fav. loads of meats and very spicy.
my local does salt and chilli friend chicken with wine dash. dry dead fried chicken with onions, chilli and salt. or the beijing varient with a hot spicy sauce. yum.

i also like roast pork with green pepper. nice sauce, loads of pepper and onion and pork always good.

Mongolian chicken or beef ( I prefer chicken)... sweet and mildly spicy.

Orange chicken - They won't have it on the menu but will have Lemon Chicken so just ask them to do that but Orange they'll know what you mean.
