Have any forum members gotten a visa for China through one of the agencies that allow you apply via post?

They all seem to cost about the same for a dual entry visa with return RM Special Delivery but I'm hard pressed finding recommendations on which agency to go with, considering they'd have my passport reliability is a big concern.

Any advice much appreciated :).

Can you not go via the Chinese Embassy or do you have to apply in person there? If so, I'd probably make the effort and do it that way, not sure I'd trust a through-the-post agency with my passport!

Would need to take two unpaid days off work and pay for two return train tickets to London. Would be a lot cheaper to use an agency if it's viable.

I am visiting China for business next month and obtained my visa using uk.cibt.com which the company has an account with.

Service is excellent with plenty of ways of delivery. There is even one where someone will meet you at the airport! However everything comes at a price depending on how fast you want it.

I think it took 7 days in total for a standard delivery message as i was in no rush.

Also used CIBT. They're good.

Due to letter of invitation (needed for business visa) taking longer than I thought I ended up getting a 24 hour one - got the visa at 9am on my day of departure.

How long was turn around? Was it as specified on the site?

Put myself in a slightly tight spot in which to get the visa as I need my passport for other trips .

It is specified on the site.
I paid for the 4-7 working days service and received mines on the 4th day. They keep you completely updated with the process.
- received passport/visa application
- submitted to embassy
- returned from embassy
- sent back to me

Just thought I'd post a follow up in case someone digs this up in a search.

Sent off the passport to the official agency last Friday lunch and got it back today (1 week later).

Excellent and fast service. Their website provides a tracking system showing what stage your application is at so you know at what point it has been posted back. Really help reduce stress as alternatively you would just send your passport off and not hear anything until it came back.

How much was your visa out of interest?

I got stung for £81 :( They don't even tell you before they charge you the cheeky gits.

Dual entry entry visa with postal processing was £99 plus the £11 quid for special delivery there and back.

I found a page detailing the prices though so I knew roughly what they'd be taking.

In the unlikely event of you being in Malaysia before going to China (transit flight maybe?), I think it's a bit cheaper here - costs around 50 quid for a multi (not just double) entry 6 month.

I'll keep that in mind as next time I go to China I'll be in South Korea for a while before, could be a good saving :).
