Chip running to hot.

Hi Guys, as you all know from this thread I had trouble with my processor running too hot, regardless of what heatsink I used. Well just to update you all, I send it back to AMD and they have exchanged it, so there was obviously something wrong with the old one. I have also changed my case for a Gigabyte 3D Aurora which has silent fans. At the moment I'm using a gigabyte 3D cooler ultra, but it's a little noisy. So can anyone suggest a good silent heatsink, but remember it's for a socket A board. And thanks to all for you input.

Those cpus generally run very hot and your temps atrnt that bad. I replaced stock cooler in dads comp with a coolermaster aero7. Its really loud on full but it keeps it very cool and speed can be turned right down. My sisters also runs at 47idle with a zalman 7000cu on it. The zalman is very good for the noise it makes and definitely worth considering. It cools better than the cpu in dads comp and my sisters is in a tiny case thats cramped

These temps do seem on the warm side, my old xp3200 was clocked to 2.3gig and idled at 36'c and max load got it up to 42'c. I used a gigabyte g-power pro to cool it. My case ventilation is 1x120mm + 2x80mm intake all at 7v and 1x120mm exhaust at 12v so nothing extreme was needed to keep temps down with mine.
