Chipperheads guide to creating a new lawn

Looking very nice!

I've had my eye on some smart edging for a while now.

Will update the renovation thread in the next couple of weeks

Progress on my garden :-

Got the 'frame' set out and bedded in and I'm in the middle of levelling the existing soil in preparation for new topsoil to be delivered next month (possible the 22nd sept if i can arrange it) I'm tempted to leave things till April before sowing seeds to see if any hollows appear though.

Thought I would ask a question in here rather than start a new thread but where is a good place to buy some fertilizer from? I need to get rid of the moss and because it hasnt been done before by the looks of it I think it will need a helping hand.

Ive been looking at this product from Lawnsmith but not sure it its any good or if the price is about right? Its a fairly big lawn (700m^2) so will need quite a bit.

That's a really big lawn!
If you want to just get rid of the moss you'd be better off buying soluble iron, the fertilizer you linked to doesn't contain any iron which is what you need to get rid of moss.
You can buy fertilizer with added iron, just look for +fe on the label.

I use pitchcare.com for all my lawn products which I find cheaper, this is the soluble iron from there, it works out you'll use very roughly £2.50 to treat your full lawn.

If you do want to start putting fertilizer down, with the size of lawn you have it's going to start costing you a fair amount of money.

...

You can appreciate the neatness of the edging from this photo.

Wow amazing looking results! Regarding the left hand side of the lawn against the fence, is this in the shade for most of the day? If so did you use a different seed blend for this part?

Thanks for the advice, I'll check out pitchcare as it seems cheaper than the other one.

What window do I have left this year to do anything? I appreciate its not going to happen over night but can I use the soluble iron in the new couple of weeks and then rake/scarify it or will it be best to wait until next year now?
