How much is a portion of chips from your local chippy?

Small £1.90
Large £2.50

Not trying to be a pointless thread but I haven't been to a chippy in ages and there's signs everywhere apologising for having to increase as they are paying £10 for 25 kg where as last year it was £4

Same for you?

Hfm? Small is £1.20, Large £1.50. They're not massive portions but large with fish is enough for me and I'm a big lad. Excellent proper Yorkshire chips too and that's from a Lancastrian.

Do these places have constant BOGOF like dominos, perhaps they are their role models.
Insane prices.

It's only 4.60 for massive chips and a pretty large fish.

Nope, not that am aware of. For sure they do specials at lunchtime but nothing like BOGOF.

For the record, a Fish (battered) £3.60

My local is as follows

Small £0.80
Med £1.50
Large £2.15

A medium portion is more than enough, a Large Cod is £5.10 though but it is very good an all cooked to order.

Potatoes are supplied by my farmer friend who just happens to be an ambassador on the Potato Council :D

Last time I looked was £1 for small, £1.60 for medium £2 for large tho the portion sizes seem to be getting smaller. (Roughly 1999 or so was only 50 pence for what is now the medium size and that was the small then).

I got a chippy for me and missus the other week - 1 large portion of chips, 1 haddock, 1 fishcake, 1 battered sausage and a pea fritter and nearly fell over when it hit the best part of 20 quid!

What the hell is wrong with this world I asks you?
