Choice of HD's, which one for OS?

Hi All,

Got a bit of a dilemma on my mind.

Currently, I have at my disposal, a pair of WD Velocirapters (300gb), a Crucial C300 64gb SSD and a OCZ Vertex 2 60GB SSD.

I am deciding on which one to use as my Win7 OS drive.

The Velociraptors in a Raid 0 array? Or one of the SSD's

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Use the C300 as the OS drive.

A good SSD is much faster than a pair of HDD in Raid0

One of the SSDs, probably the Crucial C300.

It is, I had one, should even get 3-4 games on it (depending on installation size)

Ok, that sounds good. I have the Gigabyte x58 a-ud3r mobo, which sata port, Intel or the Marvel Sata 6gb for best performance? I am leaning toward the Intel controller because it is tried and tested. I don't know much about Marvell tbh.

Use the Intel ones, the Marvel controlled ones give inferior performance.

The C300 maybe the first SATAIII SSD released, but its performance on a SATAIII port compared to a SATAII port isnt much greater.

Yep. Intel it will be....

Hope to sell the raptors on to raise some cash to put toward a bigger SSD...
