choosing a new ISP seems to be a mine field!

that's the problem....i've got 2 lines at the moment.

I want to cancel the line with BB on and enable it on my other line.

aah, I should have read your opening post properly :o

might be that the bullet needs to be bitten then??

yeah i guess so.

I don't mind paying it as long as i end up with a good service. I'm paying £24 a month for a 1mb unlimited line, but then with a 1mb line i'll never reach the caps on the packages i've been looking at anyway.

Just means my downloads will complete quicker!

the UKFSN have had some good reviews....

A good way to avoid high activation costs and 12 month contracts is to join freeola for 3 months then migrate. Freeola is half price for the first 3 months anyway and is an enta reseller.

just heard a couple of stories about the bundle thing being bad.....it does seem a good deal though.

Dont get pipex if want to download stuff, its ok if you are just a general user. But Ive just been told 1gb per week in the evenings is allowed. Thats about 28megabytes an hour on a 8megbit connection

Just a quick question, say I chose the Pipex Max & Talk anytime pack with Pipex for 28£... do I need to pay line rental or BT still or something? :s

that's crap :S .... i download loads more than that, probably evens out but on odd evens I can pull down around 5 gig an evening if maxing out.

Yep its rubbish onpeak so dont get it if you need that. Otherwise I would say its an ok deal. and the line rental is paid to them, its included in that price

ahh cool.

I really don't know what to do!

I've been with pipex for ages (3 years) and to be honest I can't fault the service!! It's been top notch, like I said.. 20 mins max of downtime in the past 3 year.

Will something suddenly change if I go over to max or something? Is it contended differently? Pings do matter to me for X360 Live & occasional PC gaming... and obviously I download occasionally but wouldn't say im heavy (downloading is usually > 12pm anyway)

Any other offers? I can't seem to beat there £28 for Up to 8mb Max & unlimited calls... anywhere. Currently paying £49 for both, so this is a £21 saving!! Would consider paying up to £35.

Cheers for all the advice aswel :)

That package is sold by homecall and then in theory you get the broadband part from pipex. I think they currently have me on tiscali without my consent, this is the isp they previously resold.
Doubt your'll see cheaper though

Coming from Pipex's 1mbps service which at the moment has excellent pings ... am I likely to see a change going to an ADSL Max package with them? Ping/spikes wise, etc.

I've been with them for 3 years, am I likely to get them to take me on a month by month basis?

Its a 12 month thing and the service is the same as you have ( imo) just so long as you dont get switched

If you want a month by month thing, you would have 2meg as a maximum I think. The 8meg is a 12month new contract lock in

Right, think i'm going to go with it then... a £21 cutdown on bills a month is pretty good.. and the anytime calls is great.

Thanks for your help m8 :)

No problem just tread carefully in the evenings :/ 21 saved a month is enough to switch to something else more expensive after a year anyway I figure :)
21cn looks good for starters
