Hi guys, i had a quick search but didn't find anything.
I want to set FRAPS (+ a couple of others) to use a specific core on my C2D with Vista, i know this is possible but i cannot find out how, can anyone help a guy out?

TIA - Kelvin

Isn't it something like go into task manager and right click the program you want, then click "Set Affinity" or some such?

Used to be a program I used in XP to permanently set affinity. Don't remember the name and haven't needed to do it in Vista yet.

windows knows best tbh..

unless you want to load a ton of things onto one core so you have the full speed of the other to yourself

Wasn't that one. I've tried finding it on Google but no luck. I remember it didn't really have a proper GUI. It probably wouldn't work on Vista anyway.

do you have a specific problem related to this such as a program/game not working? because if you don't then leave it be. windows does a far better job of managing cores than you ever will... :)

Agree with that. I only needed to change things for games that didn't take too well to dual core at all.

Well, i've just recently started having problems recording with FRAPS, i used be able to record at 30fps no problems, but now i can only record at about 5fps. The idea was to try and dedicate a core to the game and a core to FRAPS to see if it helped.
The problem has started since i installed Vista, so i suppose i can put it on the long list of Vista problems.

I may be wrong im sure i am and some one with greater knowlage will be able to say but when your processor says intel core duo 3ghz or what ever doesnt it mean there are 2x 1.5ghz cores totalling 3ghz rather than 2x 3ghz. I only say this because i doubt that intel/amd would miss out on an opertunity to rip us off and say its a 6ghz core duo when its just two 3ghz cores. If you catch my drift?
